I found the fact that I could look upon the visible world as an object wrapped with lines through spider's web. What I mainly handle as the subjects of image are a toothpaste tube, a cola bottle, a milk box, a building etc. These are what we can get easily and frequently at surrounding where we live in. I can see this as the thing itself that it represents its appearance in the first meaning, aside from the first meaning, also as a huge illusion of endless desire that we express by imaginative power.

If we take a cola bottle for instance first in order to understand easily, this cola bottle is wrapped with 55,304 segments. Each segment consists of 3 elements i.e. 1 line type of 59 line types, 1 line weight of 24 line weights, one color of 5 direction colors that I apply them endlessly and in circulation repeatedly. This cola bottle is an organic network that implies artistic idea polysemantically. This cola bottle is composed of segments arranged through projection of appearance. This become a constellation in the sky spreading imaginative wings and flying high. All segments that take up virtual space have its dimension and its situation and are no longer isolated, located in the world, related closely like a cosmic network woven interdependently and in crucial interaction. If even a segment swims meaninglessly in the air out of independence of self existence from its shape, it should lose its position, be pulled in black vacuum and can not keep even its life. Being far away from it, when I take a view of it fully, I can not accept this disorganized total network as a completed one.

In Buddhism there is a story that a net called 'Indra network 因陀羅綱 is as big as it can cover the whole world. It is said that a bead is suspended at all the knots of the net and the whole world of suffering is mirrored on a bead. The appearance of the world mirrored on one bead is the appearance that the appearance mirrored on the other bead is reflected again. That is, the beads are not only mirroring each other but also link each other as a net.

The concept of Indra network is a point of view that the Buddhism see the human world. Even though it looks as if a human being lives for oneself, he is actually linked with surrounding people, each other mirroring each other, and is entangled in close relation like beads that they are suspended on the net. This story shows well that what the view of the world of Asian and relations among human beings live within there, or a relation between human being and the world are.

The linear construction in the space is based on the fullness of the void and create a cast of desire. This void is the void that can be refilled anytime. This void as an energy source evokes generation anew. I molded the body of cola bottle in this world language. This is the illusion of ecdysis of idea that I reinterpreted and translated in that world language. But in order that our thinking may not be stagnant and be rotten, the channel must have an aperture in order that our thinking may flow in and out. First, as we must empty ourselves in order that we may intake something, a fresh thinking can not flow in and out in blocked area.

We must make an opening in order that a fresh wind may flow in and out. A space for ventilation acquire a space for representation that I allocate. This space also is a room that modern people's depression, stress, infirmity, disability can get out. Therefore all the segments are arrayed in order that they may not be overlapped each other at the interval. This is cola bottle, i.e ‘an airy cola bottle’.

It is meaningful in the sence that this line works presents the way that we see things differently to artists and spectators also.

Reprecentation is always the two-way works. It opens a gate to a new creation by presenting us a way that it is transformed from the one world to the other world.

2)Line works are divided into 2 categories again
② .webbed series- Since 2010 objects wrapped with lines and finished in AutoCAD only.
③ .lineara series- Since 2014 objects wrapped with lines. I found the fact that during making object in the computer I am able to obtain the number of lines to the extent that I want by augmenting the number of segments of the objects in 3ds Max and can complete the work after bringing objects to AutoCAD. Because it is easier to make object due to many commands and tools to model object in 3ds Max than AutoCAD.

In general first we make objects in AutoCAD and finish the works bringing them to 3ds Max. This ia an inverse concept that I bring object made in 3ds Max to AutoCAD. No one does this. Because complited object should be deteriorated thoroughly. In the future, I will describe .webbed and .lineara to discriminate in my works as mentioned above.

3) According to the size of the prints and site specific works, the works are classified in two as follows :
④ indoor prints - The prints that are to be hung on the wall indoor as the size of prints are in usual size
⑤ outdoor prints- The prints that can not be hung on the wall indoor as the size of pnnts are too big

4) According to dimension, the works are classified into two as follows :
⑥ works in 2 dimensions – The prints that were made in 2 dimensions like general flat plane works
⑦ works in 3 dimensions - The prints that were made in 3 dimensions like a sculpture.

These works are not flat pictures in 2 dimensions but ones in 3 dimensions that put distinctive perspective of real space in. Gathering of points, lines and planes together forms objects and even a point becomes a real body that has real space. As the performance of software is being developed day by day, even a point and a line are made to be real things in virtual space.

Numerous objects gather into a cluster. All these objects have their positions in 3d space and float in a state of nongravitation. This nongravitatton is a virtual reality in restricted computer space. In fact, if we really take this cluster out of computer and get this into shape in real space with gravity, it become a sculpture. Even objects such as objects that have tissues of fibers and minerals with gravity exist in a state of nongravitation. What I moved work area to works in 3 dimensions shows that my wish that I embosomed longing for producing sculpture is left. These are different from the works in 3d completed in contrast between light and shade and among degrees of chromaticity. Certainly they are different from photographs taken by a camera.

거미줄 작업

나는 거미줄을 통해 가시세계를 선으로 둘러싼 덩어리로도 볼 수 있다는 것을 알아냈다. 내가 주로 이미지의 주제로 다루는 것은 치약 튜브, 우유곽, 콜라병, 건축물 등이다. 우리가 생활하면서 주위에서 흔히 그리고 쉽게 구할수 있는 것들이다. 나는 이것들을 제1의 적第一義的 으로 외형상 사물이 나타내는 물건 그 자체로도 볼 수 있고 첫 번째 뜻을 벗어나서 우리가 상상력으로 나타내는 커다란 끝도 없는 욕망의 허상으로 볼 수도 있다.

우선 이해를 쉽게 하기위해 콜라병을 예로들면, 이 콜라병은 모두 55,304개의 선분으로 구성 되어 있다. 각 선분에는 3가지 요소, 즉 59개의 라인 타입중 line type 1타입, 라인웨이트 line weight 24개중의 1 라인웨이트, 오방색의 5색중의 1색을 끝없이 반복 순환하여 적용한다. 이 콜라병은 작가적 관념을 다의적으로 함의하는 유기망有機綱 이다. 콜라병은 외관의 투사를 통한 선들의 배열로 구성 되어있다. 이것은 상상의 나래를 펴고 천상으로 올라가 하늘의 별자리가 된다.

가상적 공간을 차지하는 선분들은 차원과 상황울 지니고 있으며, 더 이상 고립되지 않으며, 세계안에 위치하며, 서로가 상호 의존적이고, 상호 결정적으로 짜여진 우주망宇宙網 처럼 밀접히 관계 지어져 있다. 어느 선분 하나라도 그 형체에서 그 자존적 독립을 벗어나 히공에서 아무 의미없이 유영한다면 그 지위를 잃게되고 검은 진공으로 빨려 들어가 생명조차 유지할 수 없게 된다. 멀리 떨어져서 전체적으로 조망해 볼때 이렇게 조직이 이탈된 유기적 총체망總体網은 완성된 것으로서 받아들여 질 수 없다.

불교에는 인드라망因陀羅網 이라는 세상을 덮올 수 있을 만큼 큰 그물에 관한 이야기가 있다. 이 그물의 모든 매듭에는 구슬이 달려 있는데, 이 구슬에는 사바세계 전체가 비추어 나타난다고 전한다. 하나의 구슬에 비춘 세상의 모습은 다른 구슬에 비추어진 것들이 다시 반사되어 비춘 것이다. 즉 구슬들은 서로를 비추고 있을 뿐만 아니라 그물로서 서로 연결되어 있다.

인드라망의 개념은 불교가 인간세상을 바라보는 관점이다. 인간은 스스로의 힘으로 살아가는 것처럼 보이지만 실제로는 주변 사람들과 연결되어 있고, 서로가 서로를 비추는, 마치 그물에 달린 구슬과 같은 밀접한 관계로 얽혀 있다는 것이다. 동양인의 세계관과 그 안에서 살아가는 인간들 간의 관계, 또는 세상과 인간과의 관계가 어떠해야 하는가를 잘보여 주는 이야기 이다.

공간내의 선적인 구조는 텅 빈 충만함에 바탕을 두고 욕망의 껍데기를 창조한다. 이 텅빔 은 언제라도 다시 채워 질 수 있는 텅빔이다. 이 텅빔은 창조의 에너지원 으로서 새로운 생성을 부추긴다. 이 세계의 말로 콜라병의 신체를 주조하여 저 세계의 말로 재해석하여 옮긴 관념적 탈화의 환영이다. 하지만 우리의 사고가 정체되지 않고 썩지 않으려면 흘러들어오고 나가는 통로가 있어야 하듯이 뚫려 있어야 한다. 마치 우리가 무언가를 받아들이려면 먼저 자신을 비워야 하듯이 꽉 막힌 곳은 신선한 공기 (思考)가 지나갈 수 없다. 상쾌한 바람이 지나 가려면 틈새를 만들어야 한다. 이 통풍 공간은 내가 할애할 재현 공간을 얻는다.

이 공간은 또한 현대인의 우울, 스트레스, 병약, 장애둥이 빠져 나갈 수 였는 여지이다. 그래서 모든 선분들은 겹치지 않게 간격을 두고 배치하였다. 하여 바람이 잘 통하는 콜라병인 것이다. 이러한 선 작업은 작가들에게는 물론 관람자들 에게도 사물을 보는 시각을 다르게 해주는 방법을 제시해 준다는 의미에서 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다. 재현이란 항상 두 갈래 길의 작업이다. 그것은 하나의 세계에서 또 다른 하냐의 세계로 변이되는 방법을 우리에게 제시해 줌으로써 새로운 창조에로의 길을 열어 준다.

거미줄 작업은 다시 2로 나뉜다
②. webbed- 2010년 이후의 거미줄 작업으로 오토캐드에서 객체를 완료한 거미줄 작업.
③ .lineara- 2014년 이후의 거미줄 작업으로 3ds Max에서 객체작업을 완료하여 다시 오트캐드로 가져와 작업을 최종완료한 것.
본인이 컴퓨터 작업중 발견한 것으로 선을 얻기 위해 3ds Max에서 객체를 만들고 선분수를 증가하면 원하는 만큼의 선을 얻어 Auto CAD로 가지고와 작업 할 수 있다는 것을 알게 되었다. 왜냐하면 3ds Max에는 AutoCAD보다 오브젝트를 모델하는 명령과 도구가 많아서 더 쉽게 object를 만들 수 있기 때문이다. 보통 먼저 AutoCAD에서 오브젝트를 만들고 3ds Max로 가져와 완성한다. 이것은 대단한 역발상으로 아무도 3ds Max에서 만든 object를 AutoCAD로 가져오지 않는다. 이렇게 하면 완성된 객체를 완전히 망쳐버리는 것이 되기 때문이다. 앞으로 상기에 의거 하여 작품캡션에서 .webbed 또는 .lineara 라고 기재할 것이다.

3) 작품의 크기에 따라, 장소 특정적 분류에따라 옥내 판화와 옥외 판화로 나뉜다.
④ 옥내 판화 ― 일상적 크기의 실내에 걸수있는판화
⑤ 옥외 판화 - 실내에 걸 수 없는 대형 판화

4) 차원에 따라 2 dimension와 3 dimension로 나뉜다.
⑥ 평면 작업: 일반적 인 2차원 작업
⑦ 입체 작업: 전통적 인 2차원의 평면이 아니라 현실공간의 명확 한 원근감을 담은 3차원의 작업이다. 점·선·면 모두가 모여서 객체를 형성하고 점까지도 공간감 있는 실체가 된다. 컴퓨터 프로그램의 성능이 날로 발전하면서 점·선 까지도 실체적 사물이 되게끔 만들어 주었다. 하냐의 객체가 모여 군집체를 이루며 이들 모두가 공간에서 각각의 위치를 소유하며 무중력 상태로 떠있다. 이 무중력이 제한된 컴퓨터공간의 가상현실인 것이다. 사실 이 군집체群集體를 실제로 컴퓨터 바깥으로 끄집어내어 유중력 현실공간에서 형태를 갖추게 도면 조각 작품이 되는 것이다. 중력을 작용하는 객체 조차도 무중력 속에서 존재하는 것이다. 섬유나 광석의 조직을 갖는 것조차도 말이다. 본인이 작업 영역을 3차원으로 이행한 것은 오랫동안 가슴에 담아두었던 조각에로의 염원念願이 남아 있음을 나타내는 것이다. 2차원에서 명암과 색도의 대비로 이룬 3차원과 다르며 물론 사진기로 찍힌 입체구조물과도 차별되는 것이다.

현재 작업 중인 작품― 미국 뉴욕시에 있는 EMPIRE STATE BUILDING을 실제크기로 .LINEARA계열의 작품입니다.
